The most beautiful historical districts of Moscow
In the old districts of Moscow, everything breathes history: streets, squares, boulevards, squares, buildings. Our capital is admired for its versatility, but it is the historical districts with their unique infrastructure that attract both native Muscovites and visitors to the city.

Arbat
Arbat is significantly inferior to other districts in terms of area, but there is a very special atmosphere here that you will not find anywhere else. The museum street is filled with sights — they are found at every turn. In addition, many consider Arbat to be the most beautiful area of Moscow.
Walking along the Arbat, you can visit the apartment museums of Pushkin, Lermontov, Gogol, Tsvetaeva, see the Vakhtangov Theater, the Conservatory. Tchaikovsky, the Prague restaurant, the monument to Bulat Okudzhava, the Viktor Tsoi Wall, the Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior on the Sands.
Moscow's historic buildings are adjacent to numerous restaurants, cafes, clubs and business centers. You can easily reach any place on foot. Turning onto Povarskaya Street, where only aristocrats used to live, you will admire the ancient mansions and manors that now house embassies and other government agencies. The famous Gnesinka and the Gorky Institute of World Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences are also located here.
Zarya and Irbis Hotels are a 5-minute walk from Okruzhnaya Metro Station. The trip from Okruzhnaya to Arbatskaya will take you no more than half an hour.
Khamovniki
There are many places in Khamovniki that are described in the works of classics of Russian literature: Ostozhenka, Prechistenka, Devichye Pole, Ivy, Trubetskoy. Four centuries ago, rich merchants began to build their mansions here. The best architects worked on the projects of luxurious estates. Walking through this old and very beautiful area of Moscow, you can visit the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, visit the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts with its rich collection.
Falcon
This historic district of Moscow got its name from a village built in the late 20s of the last century. The elite was supposed to live here: scientists, writers, artists, famous artists and athletes. The streets were lined with low-rise buildings, and trees of a certain type were planted on each one. Almost all the streets were named after Russian artists. Now this area is an architectural monument of regional importance. A distinctive feature of Sokol is a relatively small number of new buildings. In 2003, it was recognized as the most well-maintained area of the capital.
Ostankino and Alekseevsky
Native Muscovites love these areas very much. No wonder, because Ostankinsky and Alekseevsky are literally surrounded by greenery. We recommend that you definitely take a walk through the magnificent Catherine Park and visit the largest botanical garden in Europe. Here you can observe unique combinations of styles: pompous buildings of the Stalin era side by side with ancient count estates and ultramodern buildings. And, of course, not a single tourist will refuse to climb to the observation deck of the Ostankino TV tower and see all the sights of the center at once.
VDNKh is located on the territory of the Ostankino district, 49 objects of which have received the status of cultural heritage. VDNKh Metro Station can be reached by car in 10 minutes from Slavia Hotel.
Gagarin's
There are no large industrial facilities in the Gagarin district, but there are a huge number of various research institutes. In general, the Soviet government conceived this area as the scientific center of the capital. It is here that the 22-storey building of the Russian Academy of Sciences is located. On its roof there is a structure iridescent under the sun, thanks to which the RAS received the popular name "Golden Brains".
Climbing to the observation deck of the Russian Academy of Sciences, you will see Moscow City, Vorobyovy Gory, Luzhniki, Leninsky Prospekt and many other attractions from a 60-meter height.
